Corporate Objectives Canvas

Corporate Objectives Canvas

Before we talk markets, distributors, or trade shows — we ask one question first: What do you actually want this business to achieve? Work through each section below. Your export strategy flows from what you define here.

Complete all sections to build your objective
1
Your Foundation
Before you can set an objective, get clear on where you're starting from and why you're here.
🏢
Your Business
What you sell and who buys it domestically
What does your business do? What product or service are you selling, and who is your current domestic customer?
💡
Your Export Motivation
The real reason you want to export — and why now
Why do you want to export? Why now? Be honest — personal and financial motivations both count and are what we build your strategy around.
Your Timeframe
The planning window that makes sense for your business
What planning horizon makes sense — 1 year, 3 years, 5 years? Set this first. Your objective lives inside this window.
2
Build Your Objective — The Four Layers
Every corporate objective must pass through all four layers. Each one builds on the last.
Layer 1 — Specific
🎯
What exactly needs to happen?
Market, product, and the activities that will get you there
Which market(s)? Which product or service? What activities — distributors, e-commerce, trade shows, direct sales? The more specific, the better the decisions that follow.
Layer 2 — Realistic
Can you actually achieve this?
A resources check — capability, capacity, and budget
What resources do you have available? Budget, team, market contacts, product readiness? What do you still need to build or acquire before this is realistic?
Layer 3 — Measurable
📊
What does success look like in numbers?
Revenue, units, market share, or margin — name the metric
What metrics matter? Revenue target, unit sales, number of distributors, % of total revenue from exports, EBITDA? Name the number and explain why it matters to the business.
Layer 4 — Time-bound
By when — with milestones
Deadlines that create accountability and drive action
By when? Break the overall goal into milestones. What needs to happen at 6 months, 12 months, and at the end of your planning window?
3
Your Corporate Objectives
Two objectives — one for the whole business, one for export. Both should be specific, realistic, measurable, and time-bound. They connect, but they're not the same thing.
🏢  Whole Business Objective

Business Corporate Objective

What does the whole business need to achieve — beyond export?

Think about your overall business goal: revenue, growth, team, ownership, lifestyle, or exit. This is the north star everything — including export — is pointing toward. It doesn't need to mention exporting at all.

4
Supporting Context
These three questions sharpen your objective and set up your strategy. They'll be referenced in your Palaudin sessions.
Your Competitive Advantage
Why would an export market choose you?
What makes your product or service genuinely different in a new market? Price, quality, origin, innovation, IP, or scarcity?
⚠️
Biggest Risk or Unknown
What are you most uncertain about?
What keeps you up at night about this export strategy? Regulatory approvals, finding the right distributor, pricing, or cash flow?
🏆
Personal Definition of Success
What does winning look like for you?
Beyond the numbers — what would make you look back in 3 years and say "that worked"? This is the personal version of your objective.
